In this episode of Stirring the Pot we’re talking with Pūhoro STEMM Auckland Kaihautū Leads, David Hemopo & Waikaraka Ruwhiu-Toms.
HERA has been very fortunate to have been able to forge a strong connection to both David and Waikaraka as Pūhoro are tenants at HERA House! On top of that, we are lucky enough to receive weekly Te Ao Māori lessons from them each week, which has had a massive influence on our ability as a team to better understand mātauranga Māori and its integration within the workplace.
Join us as they chat with our Innovation and Transformation Architect, Greg Buckley around their mahi (work) to encourage young Māori to be active participants in STEMM (science, technology, engineering, maths, mātauranga) and the STEMM economy of tomorrow. Their focus being to develop a community of future Māori technologists, engineers, entrepreneurs, scientists, innovators and thought-pioneers who excel in high value careers and are the producers and developers of cutting-edge future innovation and will become self-determined empowered leaders, who can bridge both worlds simultaneously (te ao Māōri and te ao Pākehā). We also get down into how our industry can be a part of their story so they can invest for impact!
